Equipment Setup

A. Meet Your Guide: Ricoh Theta Z1

First things first, let’s gear up with the Ricoh Theta Z1. This is the camera that I use for my 360 virtual tours. This nifty little camera is our ticket to capturing immersive 360-degree views. There are many cameras to use; you can even use your phone with the right supporting equipment. Don’t forget to adjust those settings for optimal HDR rendering to make those interior shots pop!

B. Ready for Takeoff: Drone Prep

Now, let’s take to the skies with our DJI MavicAir 2S. But before we take to the skies, we’ve got to check for any flight restrictions in the area by using the B4UFLY app. This is a practice that we use, along with our pre-flight list. Once we file our flight plan, we’re cleared for takeoff, reaching heights of up to 400 feet AGL for breathtaking aerial shots.

Exterior Shot Capture

A. Through the Lens: Ricoh Theta Z1 Edition

With our Ricoh Theta Z1 in hand, well, on a tripod, we can capture the beauty of the property. From the air to the front porch and the backyard, we’re snapping away to create a seamless 360-degree experience. But make sure you’re out of sight. Remember, this is a 360-degree camera, so it will capture everything! Unless you convey with the property.

B. Soaring Heights: Drone Photography

Time to elevate our perspective with the drone. We’re soring to new heights to capture those beautiful aerial views, circling the property to capture every angle and different elevations, below 400 feet, that is. Some properties benefit from a top-down shot if they have an awesome back and front yard. Maybe it’s just a clean, well-kept yard that will impress potential buyers. Just be creative!

Interior Shot Capture

A. Inside Look: Setting the Scene

Now, let’s head indoors for a glimpse into cozy interiors. Placing our camera in the heart of each room, or the most logical spot in that particular room, we’re ready to capture the essence of home, sweet home. Again, we’ve got to hide out of sight, so we’re not part of the tour.
